Practical Petroleum Geoscience

This comprehensive survey course covers the principal geological, geophysical, engineering and economic principles and techniques that are used in petroleum exploration and production. Dr. Font has delivered this course both nationally and internationally, at the University of Texas at Dallas, for Union Pacific Resources, and (sponsored by AAPG) for the Center of International Education and Development (CIED) of PDVSA in Caracas, Venezuela. Approximately 180 powerpoint slides covering a review of the well log types used in petroleum exploration and development. This course is useful not only for "new hires" but anyone interested in recognizing the types of logs historically and currently run, information that the logs may provide and application of this knowledge to real world situations. Understanding Natural Geologic Hazards -- What Everyone Should Know

This is also a comprehensive survey course (AIPG sponsored) in the form of approximately 500 Powerpoint slides covering our knowledge of geologic hazards and of the techniques we can use to mitigate, control, predict, and even prevent these events. It is currently available for group presentation by Dr. Font and also on CD as reference material.
